This is an experiment. I've so far refrained from trying to make a tutorial, because while I can do, I can't teach to save my life. I'm not even gonna attempt to explain how I do the details. Speaking of details, this doesn't really have any. I don't know if it's explanatory enough, so tell me. o.0 and ask all the questions you want, so I can fix it properly. It's for photoshop, but I'm sure you could probably use it in anything else, including MS Paint. And I use a tablet, so let me know how you get on if you're using a mouse. Comments
I will

I mean colouring style (smooth, rough etc) and the way you use layers together, and the brushsize... pretty much all that stuff. Though you can still do it different ways to get the same results, and vice versa. It's fun to experiment with technique and get different styles.
I started drawing about two years ago, so I was 16. :3 I'm 18 now, and I don't think it's at all rude of you to ask. If you compare yourself to other artists, you might not feel like a prodigy, but if you consider that the general population can barely draw a stick figure, you may gain some perspective. That's what the visual aid's for. xD I mean a big brush, with no mind to detail. Basically, as long as you cover the skin, it doesn't really matter what shade the base colour is (unless it's black, as I found out the hard way), so it might be just as effective to just fill bucket the skin instead of step 1.
A lot of people, when they're CGing, they use a big brush, and then they decide it's finished. That's blobs, as far as I'm concerned. |
