paper bracelet - Jewels of Qarth by Crimefish paper bracelet - Jewels of Qarth by Crimefish
Tutorial for making this bracelet:

This was fun! The bracelets are memory wire, to keep a neat round bangle shape, and the beads are rolled paper, each bead 1cm wide.

I used white printer paper for all of them, then I painted them with nail polish. Some are plain gold; some are dichromic purple / green; some are blue with gold crackle varnish on top; and some are blue with copper varnish sponged on top.

Plus gold coloured glass seed beads at the ends, and gold coloured daisy spacer beads throughout.

I didn't intend for them to be inspired by the Qartheen colour schemes, but afterwards I realised that was what they reminded me of (especially Daenerys in her blue dress and gold jewellery), so I guess it was probably knocking around in my little head somewhere.

(Pictured are 3 identical bracelets, stacked. Going to divide them up and give them as Christmas presents. :aww: )

these are absolutely gorgeous. I think that is one of my favorite color palettes. Just curious, do you treat them with anything or is the nail polish enough to make them last?

These are so awesome! Really beautiful!
How long do these take for you to make?

Thank you so much! It depends how many beads I have to make (how many rows on the bracelet). This one is 6 rows, so the beads took 2 days (ALL day  ) to measure, cut and roll; and another day to paint. Then a few minutes the next day to assemble. :aww:

oh this is all one bracelet? I thought they were individual ones in a stack! Haha, well they're terrific. Love to buy them if ever possible. I will continue to see what you make! Keep it up~

:dummy: Right you are. They are 3 bracelets of 2 row each, but I liked the effect more when they're worn as one. If I'd only made a single bracelet of 2 rows, I think it still would have taken a day or so to make. Currently I've only made them for friends, but I'm contemplating selling them (if I can justify how time consuming it is to make them).

Oh, thank you. I find it so touching that anyone actually USES any of my tutorials. ^^; I'm not good at explaining how to do stuff, and sometimes I use a bit too much colourful language, LOL.

Actually I found your tutorial very clear and fun to use. And I don't mind your 'colorful' language, I think it's fun to read and pretty much how I would say it myself most of the times ; )

They look so smooth. And each time you post them, I get all anxious and excited like I'm going to make some and think about how I learned to make really big beads in 4th grade for a mother's day gift.

love love love!!! I knew you used nail polish on paper beads, but I never thought to put crackle on top as well! So gonna find some gold crackle now...

Thank you! I NEVER THOUGHT OF IT EITHER. A while ago I bought black and gold W7 crackle polish, and they were discounted so I figured they'd suck. The black one is okay, and I use it on my nails... but the gold one is lumpy and powdery and looks hideous on nails. Glad I finally thought of using it for beads. If the beads were round, they'd look like tiny globes. *strokes beard*

Ugh, tell me about it. -_- I try to buy all my nail polish from discount cosmetics sites! But then they're so cheap that I end up buying a whole box full of them, and still spend more money than I should. D'oh.

Hahahah, thank you. :XD: THEY'RE PRETTY, NIC. I'm so addicted to making paper beads, but I don't want to use them exactly the same way every time, so I have to keep coming up with ideas, at least for different colour schemes.
