I wanted to draw Reita. I was supposed to draw Reita next. But I don't have any really colourful photos of him and I wanted to try out my new prismacolor pencils (yay!), so I drew this first. Random magazine girl. I think I've put the emphasis on colour here, and not detail.
cartridge paper (that was a mistake. u.u; I should have used printer paper - like I usually do - so I could test out how the pencils work on normal, smooth paper)

Ahahah, thanks. xD I think it's 'cause of the prismas, not me. They're oil-based, so they're smooth. And =RoseAsh sent me a blending pencil. They work okay on other colour pencils, but they work amazingly on prismacolors. :B Blendy <3
Yeah, you're right. I tried to forcefully remind myself today that a textured drawing is just as artistically valid as a baby-butt smooth one. >.> Yay variety.
holy crap, i just knew from the preview these were prismacolor.. And i knew you would be insanely good at them, when you mentioned them in your journal. And i was right 8D score!!
The blending is gorgeous, it's got an almost surreal touch to it. It's really realistic but not quite and that makes it all the more perfect. The pretty colors you used to shade~~ Purple under her lips, purple in the flowers, and red in the leaves, geeze, it's all too great.
It was a really good choice you made, emphasizing color rather then detail. It works really well with this picture and geeze. XD It's got me speechless[rofl while writing a multi-paragraph comment yeah.]
i like the glow around her hair and body. Speaking of her hair, i like that too. XD I'm really amazed you don't use fancy papers!
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
