Photoshop, and I don't know how much time spent. I used a reference photo owned and scanned by Kouri... I don't think it'd be too respectful to pass it around, so don't ask. Anyway, it looks basically like the painting, except bigger and no doubt better. Forgive me if I re-submit this a few times. ... And perhaps actually say something about the painting in itself. Which is gorgeous. You know that. The water even turned out looking good. And the hair. And the face. You know, only Ruki could look sexy in this kind of a pose. I am so happy you chose to paint this. It's crazy awesome.
