Ruki - mind's eye

Another Gazette fanart. All I used for this was a mechanical pencil (as you can see). I love the way in pencil drawings you make each individual stroke, and there must be thousands altogether, building up to actually look like something.

"Do you usually draw with your eyes closed?"
The question was unexpected. Tai blinked. "Princess?"
"That's what made me come here to you," Antian explained patiently. "I saw you from across the court, and you were alternately concentrating on your art and sitting there with your eyes tightly shut... and sometimes your hands were moving on the paper even when your eyes were shut. This intrigues me."
Tai smiled. "I close my eyes so that I can see," she said.
It was Antian's turn to look surprised. "You close your eyes to see?"
"I cannot draw from life," Tai said. "I can see the butterflies on the flowers, but before I can draw them with my hand I have to close my eyes and draw them in my mind." - The Secrets of Jin-Shei.
