Finished piece:

"End of, stop sulking
Get out, you're walkin
Too bad, I've spoken
But when I look at you you're forgiven

Your lies, don't want 'em
Drop dead, not joking
This thing is broken
But when I look at you you're forgiven
You're forgiven

I know my ex-boyfriend lies
Oh he does it every time
It's just his permanent disguise
Yeah, yeah, but he's drop dead gorgeous..."
- Republica

I'm left-handed, so I work from right to left (so that I don't smudge
anything by laying my hand on a part I've already drawn). For the
shirt, the lines that show the weave of the cotton were at an awkward
angle, so I turned the drawing almost 180 degrees, so that
a) I could draw the lines perfectly vertically - I have much better control
over lines that way, and b) so I could still draw the bottom third of the
drawing from left to right without wrecking the bokeh at the side.
Sometimes upside-down is just easier. :B

:bulletpink: 8B, 5B, 4H graphite pencils, HB mechanical pencil, blending stump in some areas
:bulletpink: A5 bristol board (half the size of printer paper)
:bulletpink: ref photo: ~SmoochyIncubus - used with very gracious permission

I love WIPs. :D I find them to be even amazing to look at than final pieces sometimes.

However, this process really boggles my mind. This is the second pencil WIP I've seen where the artist completely finishes a section before moving on. Would it be possible to show the progress of just one section from blank to finished another time? I (and looooooots of other people, I'm sure) would love to see. :D
